Welcome! (First Blog)

Welcome! (First Blog)

Hey hey hey, Welcome home!

 So for my first blog, I thought I would explain some of the little things you may have noticed on the site!

  The first thing you probably noticed is the little symbols next to the “about” page’s link it looks like this, ” שיבה ”  You’re probably thinking “what the heck is that?”. (For those of you who knew what it was, 45 points for you! XD) Well, I’ll tell you, It’s Hebrew. It Means “return” which is part of the notion return of Zion, The heavenly city. It’s Pronounced Shee-vah. Yep, you guessed it! That’s where the last name of my Pseudonym comes from. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, I have a pseudonym. Wow, we sure are learning a lot today guys! Also, Originally I had picked ” שבח ” (shevach) which has a slightly different pronunciation, It’s pronounced Sheh-vah. It means Praise. Sorry for all you Mortal Kombat Nerds out there, This has Nothing to do with The warrior She-Beast with four arms…

  The Second thing you may or may not have/will notice is that I Sometimes Embellish This blog with Arrows. The arrow actually means a lot to me. It’s a symbol for surrendering, Letting go (pun- intended), Realizing that HE is God and you are not, and giving him full control. “How did I get all That from an arrow?” you ask well, let me break it down for you, It’s really simple.  Picture this: God is Holding a Bow in one hand, and an arrow in the other, He steady’s his arm, and draws back the arrow. HE Raises his bow, deciding how high He wants it to go, pivots, deciding which direction he wants to shoot. He releases his grip on the string, and finally, shoots the arrow. Now, imagine that you are the arrow, once the arrow (you) reaches the target, you’ve done what you were Created to do (at least at that time). You aren’t in control, The Archer (God) Guided you and got you to your target. you couldn’t have gotten there without him. ↑↓

  I am not, however saying that God Controls you and chooses your target entirely, that’s just an analogy for when you have a goal and how to get there. God is not like a puppet master, he does not plan and control you in the same way a puppet master might. You have to invite him in, and give him control of your heart and allow him to work through you. This is a topic I can elaborate on another time.

Thanks for your time and support,

A.S

Our constant need to know the future, and what it holds

Our constant need to know the future, and what it holds

  As humans, we feel a constant need to control everything. We feel a constant need to know exactly what’s going to happen and when. We fail to realize our future isn’t exactly within our full control… (isn’t that convenient?) We forget that as Christians we are supposed to TRUST in Jesus, only he knows what the future holds. I know how hard it can be to surrender what you want and what you think you need. I know how hard it is to die to your flesh, and sometimes even let the thing you love most die. But if anything but God is on the throne of your heart, you have to kill it. Though God isn’t in full control what happens because of our actions, He knows The deepest desires of our hearts and the more you get to know God, the more he will give you a heart for what HE has a heart for. You will want what God Wants and see People, and see everything the way God sees it.

1 Do not fret because of those who are evil
    or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
    like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

~ Psalms 37:1-6

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

~Jeramiah 29:11

Acts 13:22 says:

22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse,  a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.

We are not to worry about the future,

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

We are to know that He is God and we are, indeed not. I promise you if you can get a hold of this, you will be so much better for it. This is something I used to, not just struggle with but really wrestle with. I still struggle with it. Sometimes I would even get angry, I would think, “how is it that MY future isn’t in MY full control?” I would feel like I was entitled to, and like I deserved to have and know, well everything. But the truth is, we are owed nothing. We are wicked and wretched and Without God’s sacrifice on the cross, we aren’t even worthy of the clothes on our back. Jesus, who had never once sinned, became sin so that we would be righteous in the eyes of God (righteousness- in right standing with God).

  This “entitlement mentality” is completely on the contrary to the way our mindsets need to be. I believe the root of feeling entitled is in-fact pride. It starts in your heart. That being said, this was not meant to condemn you. So if you are feeling condemned, that is Satan and you can tell him to get behind you in the name of Jesus Christ. If you struggle with any of these things, don’t beat yourself, or feel hopeless and overwhelmed, and definitely, don’t let Satan have any say in it. Go straight to the one who knows, Go to Jesus and ask him to give you his heart, spend more time with him so you can build your relationship with him. Ask God to take Whatever it is that’s on the throne of your heart, he can and will remove it.
